Lafarge Nova Scotia Wins Safety Award

The Lafarge Asphalt and Paving Group in Nova Scotia beat out more than 20 other contenders to win the WCB Shield Award for safety performance.

The Nova Scotia Road Builders Association, in conjunction with the Worker Compensation Board and the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA), awarded its WCB Shield Award to the Lafarge Nova Scotia Asphalt and Paving Group.

The award is presented for safety performance, based on the NSCSA’s annual safety audit plus accident severity and incident ratings. Lafarge ranked first among more than 20 contenders.

Fish Creek Provincial Park
Lafarge donated land to the city of Calgary, Alberta, for Fish Creek Provincial Park. The park is a unique combination of wetlands, mixed forest and open prairie, the park is a sanctuary for several species of wildlife, geological formations and native grasslands.
