Our Community, Our Environment

Our Community, Our Environment

The community and environment section of our website provides a snapshot of just some of the many ways Lafarge gives back to the communities where we are located and the environment that surrounds us. Our community and environmental activities change as the needs of our communities and surroundings change. For that reason, the content of this site will be updated as new initiatives are created by our company across our communities.

Within the United States, our business involves transportation and construction projects across the country, rebuilding infrastructure and working closely with state and federal transportation agencies to meet their needs, and the needs of the communities they serve. Lafarge is committed to remaining engaged on key transportation policy initiatives, ensuring that federal resources are allocated effectively, and working to partner with the public sector to complete critical construction and rehabilitation projects. We encourage our employees and executives to be active in their communities, and express their opinion on policy issues of key importance to our company. Lafarge publicly discloses its lobbying activities under the Federal Lobbying Disclosure Act, and in any states where we are required to register and disclose our activities. We also ensure that any state political contributions are reported where required, and maintain an active compliance program to ensure that we routinely review and update our internal policies on such contributions and disclosures. Lafarge also maintains a federal Political Action Committee that allows our employees and executives the opportunity to make voluntary personal political contributions. In all that we do, Lafarge is committed to complying with the letter and spirit of the laws governing political activity, political contributions, and federal and state election law. Our PAC is regulated by the Federal Election Commission, and publicly discloses both its contributors and the candidates that receive support from the PAC.

To view copies of our public filings, you can visit www.fec.gov. At the federal level, Lafarge files quarterly reports of our lobbying activities, as well as separate semi-annual reports of specific event-related contributions by any Lafarge lobbyists and the company as a whole. To view copies of our quarterly lobbying reports, you can visit the website for the Senate Office of Public Records.

If you have specific inquiries or questions, please go to the 'E-mail us' section on the right hand side of our web page and select 'community relations / sponsorship requests.'
